  Great book series

  I would recommend these books to first graders that are excelled readers. For my daughters reading level, the chapter books at school seem to encourage children to talk back to teachers or parents, mock or play tricks on others and lie.   When it comes to the basic function of holding your CD's this box gets the job done. It will actually hold just over 60 jewel cased discs, closer to 64. The cover material is a kind of faux leather sticker that has been placed over cardboard sides to make it appear professional. The click and snap sides will hold but can unlock if bumped even mildly.   GORILLA GLUE IS THE KEY

  The snaps do unsnap and the box comes apart easily. I put Gorilla Glue on all of the snaps and now it is perfect. I filled both sides of the box and nothing comes unsnapped.   Doesn't give you enough time to strategize

  I'm a big fan of strategy games and enjoy thinking out the different moves and possibilities to find the best way to win the game. Unfortunately, these games give you a specific amount of time to finish each game, so you really don't have any time to think about different strategies. As such, you just end up quickly clicking on jewels and hoping for the best. It makes for a very dull time.Graphics are good; story is interesting, but I wished they offered a timed and untimed version.   Okay, first, why does the girl on the box have on hooker eye shadow?Aside from that, what a great little kit this is. It arrived here on a rainy afternoon and was a perfect activity for my 4-year-old and me... okay, I admit it, I kept playing with it long after she'd gone on to something else.Now, the good and not-as-good:PROS:* There's plenty of modeling dough here to make lots and lots of beads.* There are also plenty of pendants. Just two pairs of earrings, though.* It's really simple. You take little pinches of the dough and roll them with your hands, then twist two or more colors together, then roll them around in the manual bead spinner to make cool swirly patterns. Then you poke a hole though the middle of each bead and let them dry overnight on the bead tree provided.   A great craft for girls

  I have to admit that I was pretty excited about this gift for the girls. I have two daughters ages 4 and 5 and knew that I would have to assist in this project since it is recommended for ages 6 and older. It comes with 8 different colors of model magic and enough accessories to make a charm bracelet, 3 pendant necklaces, 5 toggle sets (for necklaces or bracelets), 2 earring sets, 18 sticky rhinestones, 2 shape cutters, drying rack, bead glaze, and the device that swirls.Overall impression: It's a fairly easy set up and my kids can do all the steps by themselves, it's just a lot of steps and they need reminders and assistance at times. I find it odd that there are 8 colors and only 4 storage bins on the device. It recommends the model magic to be in ziplock bags as well so I find that having storage bins is unnecessary. My girls have a blast picking out colors and swirling them together then picking which shape to put them in or to press them onto the designs.   After reading over the instructions, it was easy to begin having fun making beads with my daughter. I must admit, I like making the beads as much as my 7 year old does!The spinner is really just for spinning the dough together to make nice swirls of color, not for actually shaping the beads themselves. Just the right amount of spins on the spinner gives you a pretty swirl effect, but if you swirl too much, the colors incorporate into each other and just become one color. Remember blue and yellow make green? That sort of thing.Once you shape your beads by hand, there is a tapered plastic stick for making a hole in the dough, transforming your little wad of dough into a bead.   Great Story, terrible transfer

  This DVD set is a real heartbreaker!The Jewel in the Crown is absolutely one of historic the highlights of "quality" television. An absolutely arresting story. Wonderful script, wonderful acting, etc. I can't add anything on that count to the reviews already here.That makes the TERRIBLE quality of the DVD transfer all the more disappointing. This set has literally the WORST video quality I have ever seen on a DVD! Murky, muddy picture with visible scratches and dirt on the film. The soundtrack is a little better. On my home theater setup it sounds like its coming over a half-decent clock radio. Seriously, the picture looks like they took an old VHS tape of the show and just ran it through a disc burner.No, I don't expect blockbuster quality from an 30-year old BBC film, but I would have expected something more like the recent DVD set of Elizabeth R, which is quite watchable.   Heed Spoffo's warning.While the series itself is wonderful and certainly worth owning, I have NEVER seen a worse DVD transfer. Even my seedy Madacy Entertainment copy of Fritz Lang's 1226 "Metropolis" is of higher quality. The visuals are fuzzy and grainy at the same time, and there are severe block artifacts everytime the screen gets even slightly dark.   My only objection to this product was a total deal-breaker for me. The "one size" seems to be for someone with a very long torso and/or very large frame. I'm 5'3 to 5'4"-ish and kinda Medium sized.I'm happy to adjust the fit using the usual daypack adjustment straps. This pack had these, but I felt that the range of adjustment was too limited. It may be difficult to make a large range of adjustments happen in female-friendly ways, so that may be why the range was limited. Tell the product manager to break this product into two sizes, or to market it more clearly. That would save everyone time and money.So, the biggest problem that I had was the huge amount of length between the top of the shoulder straps and the highest possible place you can put the sternum strap. With the sternum strap across my sternum (as opposed to across somewhere lower, no thank you!), the shoulder straps were riding about 2-3" above my shoulders.
