TV Series Episode Video on Demand

Strange and beautiful
Having only seen the first episode, it may be premature to review this show. That said, both my spouse and I love the show. While the basic plot is predictable and would seem done to death, (family moves for a fresh start and their new home is haunted), the show has so many parts that are unexpected and fresh. The cinematography is strong, as is the casting. One of the best things about the horrifying moments is that they are not explained adnauseum, as so many horror moments are these days. People who are not patient and need everything explained will likely not enjoy this. The lack of resolution is intentional and builds the viewers sense of discomfort and intrigue. Looking forward to more episodes! 5/5 videofan123 - See all my reviews This review is from: American Horror Story Season 1 (Amazon Instant Video) Having only seen the first episode, it may be premature to review this show. This is seriously the best horror/mind bending flick I've seen in a long time. Week after week I did not want the episodes to end and couldn't believe how the time flew while watching it. After the first episode it leaves you hanging like "what on earth just happened?!" But by the 2nd episode you're hooked and wanting more! When this season was playing on FX...the next morning a colleague and I would discuss the episode and what we thought was going to happen next or what we thought was currently going on. My husband and I generally watch shows we like together (on the weekends - thanks DVR!), but both of us liked this so much we couldn't wait to watch it and did so independently and would talk about it after we both saw it. I can only hope that the 2nd season is just as fantastic as the first. If you don't like dark movies about the paranormal, then you're not going to like this...but for the rest of us, it was a treat! 5/5 Gina L. Canaday (SAGINAW, MI USA) - See all my reviews, March 2, 2012American horror story
This show surprised me. I loved it and loved the actors. Jessica Lange was perfection, she ruled this show and made it even better. Each episode was surprising and full of action and I really just loved it. Even looking at the inside of the beautiful home was a treat. I have watched each episode 5 times and each time I go into a little trance. Get this series for great entertainment and just to watch Jessica act. Henry James : Novels 1871-1880: Watch and Ward, Roderick Hudson, The American, The Europeans, Confidence (Library of America)
Book (Library of America)
List Price: $40.00
Some great early novels by Henry James
This book has five complete novels for one comparatively low price! "Watch and Ward," is a novel that James himself preferred to ignore as a youthful indiscretion, but I found it a vastly entertaining and suspenseful love story. Roderick Hudson is a compelling cautionary tale. The American is a gripping story that cries out for a movie version (in my fantasy Peter Weir would direct, and it might star Tom Cruise and Winona Ryder, although I'm sure many others would do just as well). This novel has love, a duel, a frightful skeleton in the closet, blackmail, Carmelite nuns, etc. The ending should be adjusted along the lines of the play version that James later wrote. The Europeans did not grab me, but Confidence is a delightful novel with something James later tended to avoid--a happy ending. This collection provides a lot of great novelistic entertainment for the buck. The way the Library of America does it is that for one they are non-profit, and second they use top quality... 5/5 Customer Formerly Known as Giordano Bruno - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) I've reviewed all five novels separately, as I've read or re-read them over several months. Here's a compendium of those five reviews:WATCH AND WARD: New England Regionalist?"Watch and Ward" was the first novel of Henry James Jr, published in The Atlantic Monthly 1n 1871. "Junior" was 28 years old. "Watch and Ward" did not catapult him to literary fame, and has never been regarded as one of his masterworks, nothing more than a 'good start' toward "Portrait of a Lady". His masterpieces were not to be written until he was solidly middle-aged. James Junior, to put it bluntly, was not especially precocious. "Watch and Ward" is a brief, well-crafted but slightly bland novel -- a 'romance' actually, in the specific sense of that genre as practiced by New England writers of the generation of Henry James Senior. The process of getting acquainted with Henry James as a young novelist does not start all that promising. The very first novel, Watch and Ward, was nothing to be proud of. Had James remained on that level he may not even be included in the LoA publication program now. I would not have continued beyond it to the others in this volume.`Watch and Ward' is a silly story about a man who can't find the right woman to marry, so he pounces on an opportunity to buy himself one. He `adopts' (without proper procedure) a 12 year old orphan girl and grooms her for the job of becoming his wife. Well, actually he keeps his intentions hidden from her for a few years, but not from others. Unfortunately the man, who is not really a bad sort of chap, gets his happy end, which is more than he deserves.`Roderick Hudson' was later promoted to `first novel' status, though it was really the second one. It is another take on the Pygmalion theme, though the project gets lost in the... 5/5 0, December 16, 2010 -

U.S. Polo Assn. Men's US8170 Analog-Digital Black Dial Gun Metal Bracelet Watch
Watch (U.S. Polo Assn.)
List Price: $21.99
Great watch for the money.
Ive read negative reviews here about this watch. If I were paying over 22.00 bucks for the watch, I would still think its a good deal. The people who say they cant see the digital part on the watch face, must work inside a dimly lit place, or they are not familiar with reverse LCD. It works sorta like e-ink, the digits that dont change every second use no power to display. Take the watch outside, in the sun and the digital part reads fine. This is a substantial watch, meaning heavy and bigger than a regular sized watch. If you need perfection in a watch, dont buy this watch. If you want a cheaply priced watch that looks more expensive than it cost, buy this watch. The color is indeed much darker than the picture suggests. It is not gunmetal gray, but a variation of what appears to be dark chrome. Very dark. The pushbuttons are chrome, bright chrome. The band also has a plastic/rubberized material the first 4 links of the band from each end of the face... 4/5 Randy Hartley "RHinNC" (China Grove, NC USA) - See all my reviews, July 15, 2011Bad quality watch
I got this watch using birthday money and I set the analog and digital times synchronized. After a few hours, the analog time starts to get a little off. Also, I had it in my bag with clothes in it, and when I took it out, the second hand swung freely when i shook it and whin i wasn't shaking it it moved very slowly. this all happened within a month of when i bought it. 1/5 J. American Innovative Teach Me Time! Talking Alarm Clock and Nightlight
Home (American Innovative)
List Price: $44.95
the nightlight is actually optional
A few posters have complained that the product is too bright and you cannot have it totally dark in the room and still have the green light come on in the morning. But you actually CAN have it only turn green in the morning with no yellow light at night. This is a complaint I've seen on a few reviews on here, so I thought I'd post this clarification for others who may be considering buying this product. From the American Innovative website FAQ on this product:"I am using the "Ok to wake!" feature. Can I set just the green light to come on in the morning?Yes. If you do not want the yellow light on during the night, you can set just the green light to come on in the morning. The LIGHT ON time will be set to the desired "Ok to wake!" time (i.e. 7am), the LIGHT OFF time is set to the time you want the green light to turn off (i.e. 9am) and the LIGHT change time must be set equal to the OFF time (i.e. 9am). With this set up the green light will come on at 7am and... 5/5 M. Beth Williams (Houston, TX) - See all my reviews, November 23, 2008Yes "nightlight" feature is optional but Super Bright LED's in feet are not! Here is how to fix.
Just to clarify things a bit. The clock has three lights. Two of them are yellow LED lights in the "feet" of the clock and are always on. A third light (also a yellow one) is in the "body" of the clock and can be set to "off". As one poster mentioned, you can set this "nightlight" to off or on by adjusting the "OK to wake" time, but YOU CANNOT TURN OFF THE LED LIGHTS IN THE FEET!!! The feet lights are REALLY bright (about as bright as a standard wall nightlight) and cannot be turned off easily (but you can turn them off permanently as I will explain below.)I went ahead and purchased this clock knowing it would be bright because another poster mentioned that you can turn off the LED feet lights by using a screwdriver and some electrical tape and 10 minutes. No, sorry. It is more like 30 minutes to an hour and two screwdrivers, a steady hand, and lots of patience! After much frustration and dropping of tiny screws onto the carpet, I managed to turn those LED suckers off and... 4/5 M. C. My husband and I were troubling over how to get our three-year old daughter to learn when she could "get up" in the morning...we brainstormed and thought of the most desirable features of a toddler clock. Well, this one hit the mark on every one. It runs on an AC adapter, the clock can "talk", the voice is not obnoxious, parents can control the volume, the light changing feature at "wake up" time is perfect, the control panel is only accessible by parents, the games seem appropriate and clever, and I think the product will be adaptable for years to come...can't say enough good things. At first I thought the price was a little high but now that we've received it and used it, no complaints! A must-buy for any parent, especially of a toddler. 5/5 Theodore Sipes "music prof" (Blacksburg, VA) - See all my reviews, August 28, 2008

Wristech Blood Pressure Monitor JB5538
Posted for friend: Being a Dialysis patient I must monitor my blood pressure. I have a top rated Blood Pressure Monitor that I use at home but was looking for something to take on the road. Easy use but accurate. When I first used this unit it gave me a very low reading and then a very high reading. I had others try it and it did the same thing. I then sat down and followed instructions to the letter and received a very close reading in comparison to my high end calibrated cuff. I had others sit and use the calibrated cuff and then this wrist monitor. They received almost exact numbers on both 122/80 on cuff and 120/78 on wrist a few min. later. I then used the same testing method of calibrated cuff and a few min. later the wristech following instructions to the letter this time and it worked great. Others who followed the instructions to the letter found the same results. I don't know if the unit must be used 5-10 times as a break in period or what caused the crazy readings in the... 4/5 Jon E. I wanted a little BP monitor and the price on this was good. I guess you get what you pay for. You have to keep your arm in exactly the position shown to get an "accurate" reading. Unfortunately based on the diagram, this position is somewhat up for interpretation. For example, I took my BP and it was 189/101, I took it again right away and it was 134/90 and then again and it was 113/64 and again and it was 150/80. My normal BP at the doctors is 110/80. Each time I thought I was in position but I was just a little off. I found by adjusting my arm up or down just an inch or two I could create a HUGE fluctuation in my BP reading. The problem with this of course is that there is no way to determine what is actually an accurate reading.I returned it. 1/5 Lilly St. James (Phoenix, AZ United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) the watch the sent me looks nothing like this one
So I bought the watch on sale for a dollar, which is the only reason why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 (can't complain about the price). However, the watch they sent me in the mail is not this really great one that is pictured here online! It's a tiny little plastic thing that doesn't even have the neon colors on the face of it. The only thing that looks the same is the neon stripes on the band, which just look really cheap. I emailed them telling them that they sent me the wrong product, and they told me I could ship it back for a refund. Why should I pay more of my own money to send it back to them when they are the ones that sold me the wrong product? Very disappointed. 2/5 DA - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Bushnell Powerview 8x21 Compact Folding Roof Prism Binocular (Black)
Sports (Bushnell)
List Price: $25.00
Perfect for back row of auditorium
Talk about a revelation: Why did nobody tell us how much a pair of good binoculars can enhance your enjoyement of concerts and shows? My wife and I warmly recommend these Bushnell 8x21s for such events. You can save money by buying cheap seats in the nosebleed section, because for approx. $20 these binocs give you an amazing close-up view. After carefully reading the online reviews of these and the Bushnell 12x25s, I couldn't decide which would be better for a recent trip to New York, and ended up buying both. My wife and I tried each and agreed these smaller, lighter ones were absolutely perfect for the back row of Carnegie Hall and a Broadway show. The 12x25s have better magnification, but your natural hand/arm shaking is also magnified. Since one can't easily take a tripod into Broadway theaters and such, the lightweight 8x21s are therefore ideal. The perfect compromise between weight and adequate magnification. We liked the handy carrying case and weren't concerned, as others were... 5/5 Anthony Allison "Kiwi music aficionado" (Las Vegas, Nevada, USA) - See all my reviews, January 6, 2009From the perspective of a beginner and amateur photographer
I know very little about binoculars. I know a lot about cameras, but have never owned a pair of binocs. I wanted to buy a basic binoculars with a decent range for my photography nature trips. I wanted to survey a scene quickly with light binoculars and decided to get this one. It's cheap, had good reviews and a respectable name. Here are my views after owning it for a couple of months:PROS:1. Excellent value2. Respectable name3. Small and light4. Good solid quality5. Adjusting stereo vision is quick and smooth and stays in place once found6. Comes with a nice little soft case7. Folds up nicelyCONS:1. Eye holes are smaller than I would like. Still see my eyelashes sometimes. This is expected of most compact binoculars.2. Requires a decent amount of light to work. A little difficult for sunrise photography.3. Neck string is thin and difficult to replaceOverall, this seems like a very solid... 4/5 silent_archimedes - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) I recently purchased these binoculars and I also own another pair that I bought at a much higher price. I have to say, these are better than my $50 binocs! Great stability combines with wide viewing area and easy focus to create the best binoculars I've ever used! This is an easy purchase, a must buy! 5/5 Joe (Revere, MA United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Bushnell Powerview 8x21 Compact Folding Roof Prism Binocular (Black) (Sports) I recently purchased these binoculars and I also own another pair that I bought at a much higher price.
