Finally Adidas got it right for a World Cup!

As football fans we all know every World Cup there's an issue in regards to the quality of match balls, the most recent example of Adidas getting it wrong was the 'Jabulani' at South Africa 2010. However these new 'Speedcell' have been used from the Women's World Cup to the U-17's and U-20's without any complaints. Fifa even regards the 'Speedcell' as the highest rating ball in quality tests (although they always seem to say that) this time it may be true!I picked up this ball at a gold box discount for $79.99 the original selling price is $150 so when I saw the deal I pounced on it since then the price has fluctuated but never at the 'gold box price' as I am writing this review amazon's price dropped back to 79.99; at this price it's a steal for football fans. The ball looks like HDTV in your hands it's that cool, it comes inflated but not ready to play, (as noted in the product info) it also has a ball pump needle which I was not expecting. speedcell is by far the best ball i've ever used!

This ball is amazing. Super light, great speed and rebound off kicks. Simply put the best I have experienced. It looks great and feels great with the new "profile" or grooves it has as a design. I would recommend to any soccer fan, that is why I bought another one just tso days ago because, I know how great of a ball it is. 5/5 Oliver A Cedeno (New York) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Re-Painted non-Titleist golf balls

When I received these balls, I noticed that they looks awfully white, and then I noticed that some of the logos were smudged. I teed one up and let it fly. It sounded like hitting a range ball, not the sound of a soft shell ProV1. I get up to the ball, and the paint that was cover the ball had partially peeled off. I started looking at them more closely, and realized that they were all repainted white (which hampers the flight of the ball), and the logos and number has been painted or stamped on them.I have ordered thousands of dollars of products from Amazon, and this is the first time I have gotten something other than what was advertised. VERY disappointed.... 1/5 Justin Morabito (Charlotte, NC) - See all my reviews, June 27, 2010

    Definitely not 'mint'

Ugh. You can sure tell these are NOT mint condition. If the sloppy repainting of 'Titleist' reminiscent of a beginning elementary school cursive class doesn't clue you in, a quick inspection of the finish itself will let you see drips and bubbles that are not present in new Pro V1 packs. One ball even had a silver metallic thread dangling from the finish, it was halfway baked into the finish and the rest left hanging out in the breeze. I would not purchase these again, I had more luck with regular reclaimed or recycled Pro V1s that had not been refinished. 1/5 Tungsten "wkb182" (AZ) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Not Close to Mint Condition (Do Not Buy), Watch Video

Customer Video Review Length:: 1:09 MinsThese golf balls are not refinished by Titleist just to be clear. A company called Knetgolf.com collects them used from golf courses and then refinishes (looks like they just paint them) them. Cuts and wear are very visible even after this refinishing. The video should show you what I am referring to. I will not buy these again. I would rather new ones than the quality I got with these even for the price. 2/5 Patrick - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Great Ball at a Reasonable Price

This is a terrific soccer ball that is great for playing on the street or in a rocky area. Very durable. Truth be told, I bought this ball for my border collie/blue heeler mix and she loves how much it bounces and how durable it is. She can't puncture it but the texture is great for her to get a grip on. 5/5 David A. Katz (Larchmont, New York) - See all my reviews, July 13, 2011

    An excellent and tough ball.

I purchased a couple of the Baden X-Tread soccer balls in size 5 for my two soccer-crazy kids, who both seem to go through balls at a fairly fast pace. It's unusual for either of them to have a ball hold up for longer than one season, as they put a ton of wear and tear on them through practices and games. So far, the Baden balls seem to be very tough. They look different, and one sniff will tell you that these are indeed made from recycled tires, but the bottom line is that they make perfectly good balls for just about any soccer environment. We have grass out at the local soccer complex, but we've also kicked these things around on asphalt and concrete surfaces and had nary a scratch appear on them.A couple of the other reviewers have mentioned that the ball seems to be slightly harder than a "normal" ball, and I will say that it probably stings a little more when it hits my hands when I'm in goal, but it also seems to react and fly pretty much like any other... 5/5 Michael Jandrok (Lockhart, Texas) - See all my reviews, February 6, 2012

Bought this because my kid is in league soccer and the street we live on shreds regular soccer balls fairly fast. We've had this thing for over four months and it's holding up. Official NBA Ball Vs. TF1000, NBA composite, Wilson Solution/Evolution

As an owner of many basketballs and always interested to add basketballs to my shooting rack, I finally dedicated some time and money to get the official NBA leather game ball and took time to break it in before properly reviewing it.I must note that all the basketballs are at 8psi (which is the median of the nba psi standards of 7.5-8.5psi).The official NBA Ball comes out of the box really slick. It feels cheap but not like a $10 rubber ball that you'd find at a toy store or the promotional balls you'd get from Pizza Hut years ago. A leather ball feels completely different from any ball a non-competitive player has played with. Most of us that play basketball for fun usually just played with any ball. Over time, recreational players get used to the feel these balls have and that's why they are quick to shoot down the NBA ball. When I brought both NBA ball types to games (leather and composite), most players thought that the leather NBA ball was the... 5/5 I. GREAT BALL, however; for hoop zealots only

There's nothing greater than: " OK, that's 10, let's run". After wearing out two Spalding TF1000's (both were lost, or stolen...I can't remember) I was checking out the NBA ball. I knew about the slick feel, that it requires a lot of breaking in, that no one would want to play with it in the games. I even called Spalding and they told me that the NBA balls are pre-broken in for the pros. I figured "Hey, where I play there are always 2 or 3 fairly new TF 1000's around to use for "game" balls anyway". So.... I got my NBA leather ball, and yes no one wants to use it as "game" ball; however I do notice that between games when we are shooting around, that the "slickness" doesn't seem to effect anybody's shot. I just love shooting with it. I have noticed that in the summer I can palm it. Maybe it's just the humidity, in general, or the porosity of the leather absorbing humidity. Even in the winter if I've been playing and have worked up a good sweat, I find that I can palm it. So there may... 4/5 Bubba Mcgee - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) The standard

First off, this is not the tackiest, softest basketball out there. It is a real basketball. It feels larger, harder, and heavier than most other basketballs that are popular now for indoor play. All the microfiber basketballs that have come out that allow everybody to palm the ball like MJ are like toys compared to this. Consequently, many people who are used to the microfiber basketballs hate these. But, to me at least, these are what basketballs are supposed to be. They feel right, bounce right, and rebound like a basketball should. Highly recommended. 5/5 badjazz (Honolulu, HI USA) - See all my reviews First off, this is not the tackiest, softest basketball out there. It is a real basketball. Not enough basics, too much anecdote

As an "ultimate guide" I found too little guidance and basic structure of the game. Like the author said, you gotta start with some rules. I found rules on one page reduced in size to a quarter of the page. In my sixties and wanting to start a senior women's wiffle ball league for those of us who love playing ball but were excluded, I find this book NOT a support for beginners. 2/5 Kate V. Wiffle Ball: A counter culture more deserving of a better book

I bought this book the day it was released. I'm an avid wiffleball player and fan. I write columns for a national wiffleball website. I've played the game my whole life and ran a league for about 7 years. Needless to say...I know a lot about wiffleball. So the idea of buying a book about something I already know a lot about doesn't sound like a good idea but I had to have a copy just for sentiment. While there are some things in there I didn't know there was a lot of overkill about the mullany family which is important, because they did invent the product afterall. My biggest problem with this book is it's unprofessional writing. I don't know if it's because I have too high of standards when reading about something that is a major hobby of mine or if I'm used to reading good writing -- either way the writing for this book was unsatisfactory. It's too conversational and colloquial. When used effectively that type of writing can be quite good, mental floss for an example. But this guy... 3/5 J. Great beach volleyball

Specifically, I bought this ball for a neighborhood volleyball tournament. Generally, I bought this ball because I have an indoor ball, but no outdoor ball. This ball is fantastic. I read reviews for numerous top outdoor balls, and this one ended up at the top of my list. The feel is very interesting, because it's solid, almost hard, but causes very little sting when you hit it (or get hit by it). It's grippy (has some texture to it), but easy to play with. Everyone whose played with it commented on how much they like it, and that's my sentiment as well. If you're looking for a quality outdoor ball (and don't mind paying for it), this is the one to go with. One note, and really the only thing that I don't love: the ball seems to have the faintest lump to it. While palming it (I like tossing it around), I detected a very slight lump. It's not really noticeable to the eye, just by hand (my girlfriend confirmed). Not sure if that's from shipping or storage (though the ball did... 5/5 J. Rehm (Phoenix, AZ United States) - See all my reviews, August 29, 2011

    Great outdoor volleyball

Our team has been playing outdoor volleyball, almost every weekend, for over three years now. We have tried out various volleyballs and finally settled on "Spalding - King of the Beach". That has been our favorite for over a year now. This Mikasa beats the Spalding hands down. A few things that make the Mikasa VLS300 excellent are:1. It doesnt soak in moisture (from the morning dew on the grass) like the Spalding and get heavy over the course of the game2. It has this interesting texture that greatly improves the handling while setting and passing3. Something about the material gives a wonderful feel when you hit the ball, while serving as well as when spiking4. Of course the bright colors are appealing tooI have also used the Tachikara VB7500 as well as the lower priced Mikasa VX20 and this one is definitely better than both. No regrets buying this. Just that the price on Amazon went up $12 since I bought this! 5/5 Premjith Balakrishnan "Premjith" (Dublin, CA USA) - See all my reviews, October 11, 2011
