  Seiko Orange Monster Automatic Dive Watch

  Bought the watch from Amazon Sunday evening and it arrived on Thursday evening with the 5-day delivery service. I've had it for a few days and I am extremely happy with it. I also own a Rolex Submariner, Breitling Chronomat, Omega Seamaster Chrono, Citizen Nighthawk, and some assorted Casios and Timexes. This Seiko automatic watch ranks just a hair below the $2000+ Swiss watches, but for under $200, it's an unbelievable value. The quality and workmanship are excellent for a price in this range. For example, the second and minute hands line up exactly with the hash marks; when the second hand hits 12, the minute hand is algined precisely with the minute hash mark. Wow, I've seen $1000 Swiss quartz watches that don't do that. The assembly of all the components look top notch. The rotating bezel has a precision feel and the click-stops align exactly with the hash marks on the dial. The alphanumeric markings, Lumbrite markers, and hands appear of high quality.   Very Solid & Looks Good too!

  I've had a lot of watches in my life. Some dressy, some functional, and some practically indestructible. This watch is a combination of all these factors. Very solid feeling (and much heavier than my titanium dive watch). Looks great and functions well. I also like the wetsuit link which allows a quick adjustment to fit over your wetsuit. The orange face is very legible, and at night, the watch glows almost bright enough to read by! The clasp is very secure, with a dual button release and an extra clasp to prevent accidental opening. Day & date are easy to adjust and very readable (much better than my Citizen).   Real Dive Watch

  I bought the Seiko orange SNM037 watch specifically for diving. Its big and easy to read, easy to handle even over a wetsuit. I think it is great.About automatics - they turn off if you don't use them. As as I use this watch specifically for diving I view this as an advantage.Dive watches has gasketing or o-rings that have a finite life, and if you have an electric watch they have (or should) be replace every time the battery is replaced.My electric dive watch was good for about three years until I had to have the battery and gaskets replaced, This was not cheap and must be repeated every few years.On the other hand, my mechanical Seiko will last a lot longer because it will not have to be opened for battery replacment - it will last until the o-rings give out (I'm told about 10 years based on about 100 or so dives a year, and NOT using it for a daily watch).Treat a dive watch as you do your dive gear or dive camera -... 4/5 SAL "real diver" (Cary, NC) - See all my reviews This review is from: Seiko Men's SNM037 Automatic Dive Black Urethane Strap Watch (Watch) I bought the Seiko orange SNM037 watch specifically for diving.   Looks good, Soldier Proof, so far Iraq proof...

  Looks good and works well. Ive been wearing it everyday while deployed in Iraq and it has never let me down. The time is a little fast and gains a minute or so a week. The date is a pain to set especially if you are a redneck and hate instructions...Waterproof.... Havent tested it. It is shower proof though!Shockproof.... Yep!Oh! Shiney!.... Most definately!Stupid simple reliable.... Yes! No batterys to change, nothing to wind.   Great everyday watch.

  I have this watch. I bought it about a month ago and it's great looking and keeps great time for a non-battery watch. It runs for about 3 days after I take it off and is easy to set and get going again. The band is very comfortable and is easy to adjust to my big wrist. I forget I have it on sometimes. The glow in the dark hands and markers are good and the lightness lasts all night as I wear it to bed for "time check" instead of trying to see the clock radio because I'm visually impaired. The orange face makes it easy to see. I don't dive but this watch is rugged and nice looking at the same time.I highly recommend it. 5/5 Chris D.   Best beater watch ever!!!

  I purchased Seiko Orange Monster so that I wouldn't mess up my Rolex during weekend excursions. Now I find myself wearing it during the week. Its looks and functionality demand more and more wrist time and I am happy to oblige. The Orange Monster (OM) steers away from the "classic" diver's watch design that we have become so accustomed to. I think it has a contemporary classic appeal. This watch is an attention getter. I always receive compliments when in public.Case/CrownThe case is constructed from 316L solid stainless steel and is very large (42 mm) and heavy. You will know when this timepiece is on your wrist. When viewed from the wrist, the watch has a deep profile. It is a little less thick than my Sea Dweller so I am going to guess that is somewhere in the 13 mm vicinity. The case back is decorated with Seiko's SCUBA emblem design which is quite attractive. The 20 mm lugs are a bit angular but I like the masculine look of them.   Substantial dive watch at a bargain price

  I bought this watch for daily wear and for diving in locations that I would be nervous wearing my Omega Seamaster. I prefer a watch with some heft to it, so if you don't want a heavy weight on your arm, you would be better served with a titanium watch or a Luminox. Compared to my Omega, the "Orange Monster" has a similar heft and size. From a diving standpoint, the luminous hands are actually more readable than my Omega and the unidirectional bezel is easier to turn when wearing gloves. (Some might think the bezel is a little too easy to turn, but I appreciate the fact that the serrations allow you to turn it while wearing neoprene gloves.) My only minor complaint is that the dial is actually in two pieces: There is a small plastic outer trim ring inside the watch resting on the main dial which looks just a little cheap. Things I love are the heft, the style, the tactile feel of the bezel, the engraving on the back of the case (very classy!) and the quality of the rubber strap... 5/5 Jeffrey W.   GREAT WATCH

  Well, just to comment on the first reviewers remarks, this watch does not require a battery. It is a mechanical automatic winding watch so I think he submitted the review on the wrong watch or his jeweler lied to him.Otherwise, this is one of the best automatics that I own. Keeps good time and is comfortable to wear. Everyone must remember a mechanical watch will gain or lose a few minute a month and has to be reset. 5/5 Joseph C.   stay away from this one

  Fell apart two weeks after I began wearing this watchband. The band is glued to itself to form a loop which holds the metal clasp device. After two weeks of normal wear, this watchband failed me.   Falls apart.

  Glue on band keeper comes loose with moisture and falls off. It is hard to believe that this watch band is "Genuine US Military issue." I doubt that very much. Junk. 1/5 Michael G.
