Invicta Men's 6693 II Collection 18k Gold-Plated and Stainless Steel White Dial Watch
Watch (Invicta)
List Price: $325.00
A Lemon, maybe?
Needed a watch at the time and got this one on the "Today's Deal". Actually liked the watch look, and what the functions should be, though a little heavy if that's a factor for you. It's the function that I had the problem with. In order of the problems as I found them, First, I needed a watchband adjustment fit, and it took me some time. This watchband is somewhat more difficult to remove links myself, without solid tools (tried the diaper pin method as advised, to no avail) and had to pay for the adjustment. No real problem here on the band, As I assume the wristband fit problem was on me. The more serious problems concerns function. When I tried to adjust the day and date, I had a problem with the crown. I couldn't get the #1 position (for the day/date adjustment) as there wasn't a click like the position #2 (time adjustment). finding this #1 position was hit or miss, and when I did get it, it slid out of position, like there wasn't any kind of lock in place. The most serious... 1/5 F. Dragon "FrankieD" (Philly, PA USA) - See all my reviews, March 30, 2010Another Lemon!
Liked the look of the watch so I jumped in and bought one. My husband has a SEIKO KINETIC that is 14 years old and a bit worn so this looked like a nice replacement. When it arrived, I found it to be a really nice looking watch. But, just like a previous opinion that I read here, I could not get the watch to set the day/date. When I pulled to stem out to "position #1" it was very loose and not doing anything. My husband spent quite a bit of time trying to gently pull the stem a fraction of an inch at a time to see if he could get it to function. He could get it to set the date but not the day. So we sent it back. Our feeling is that just because something has a big price tag, it does not mean that it is a quality product. Save your money. 2/5 Peg (Pinckney, MI United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) BEAUTIFUL watch and presentation. I purchased this for my secret Santa gift for my cousin. He wanted house shoes and a dress watch. Although I purchased the house shoes they were so boring I decided to get him a dress watch too. I never purchased an Invicta before and didn't know much about them. I am more than ecstatic about the results. There are 3 things that I was extremely pleased about.1. I place my order a few days before Christmas & had it delivered to where I would be spending the Holidays. I was worried about it arriving before the holiday but it did.2. I've never purchased Invicta before my expectations were not high however as soon as I saw the box it came in I new it was going to be fabulous. It is presented so beautifully.3. The price CAN NOT be beat. I shopped around for watches in the stores & would have ended up paying the say price I paid for the Invicta and not have nearly got the quality that one gets with Invicta... 5/5 Lisa Ann Landry - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Elgin Battery Powered LCD Alarm Clock with Nap Timer 3408E – Silver
CE (Timex)
List Price: $17.95
Nice Clock!
This is nice for a battery operated LCD clock. Unlike some of the other clocks that take a button battery or a little AAA battery, this one takes the larger AA batteries. TWO of them! So you get plenty of run time from this large battery/small clock combo. This clock is small enough, and attractively styled enough, to fit proudly on any night stand, desk, or kitchen counter top.The LCD display consists of 3 simultaneous displays. The first and foremost display is the current TIME (DUH!) Then over in the top right corner of the display is the ALARM time (I like this!), then in the lower right corner is the date in MM/DD format. The snoozer alarm repeats in 5 minute intervals. The alarm won't jolt you out of bed in the morning. It's more like a nudge, until you start thinking, "What's that high pitched sound that I'm dreaming about, and that's increasing in tempo?" Then you're up after a few minutes of listening to that. The clock gets 5 stars, but the... 4/5 doncole99 (Queens, NY) - See all my reviews This review is from: Elgin Battery Powered LCD Alarm Clock with Nap Timer 3408E – Silver (Electronics) This is nice for a battery operated LCD clock. What I like:1. Ability to see time, date, and alarm time at the same time.2. Runs on batteries.3. Attractive blue illumination. What I don't like:1. All the buttons beep, making it difficult to set the alarm late at night without waking up my wife.2. The display is tilted back so far that it's impossible to read the numbers when you're level with the clock, such as when it's on a bedstand next to your head. You really need to be a foot or two above the clock to read it. 2/5 M. Carr - See all my reviews, March 4, 2008Good student alarm clock, but lacks Smackability
As a student who takes frequent naps, this clock could have been fantastic for me. I'd never heard of the idea of a nap timer before seeing this clock. Now I have. And my life will never be the same. I probably get a good 2-3 seconds more napping per rest period because of this clock. I know that doesn't sound like much, but when you nap as much as I do, it adds up.Also, classes are on different times on different days, so the ability to quickly change the time of the alarm is really important. This clock is relatively speedy. Although there is no button to change hours directly, the inclusion of an "increase" and "decrease" button more than makes up for that. I haven't done extensive testing, but my alarm changes feel fast. The display is tilted up a little too much for my taste. But that's because I keep it on my desk, which is just above my bed. I haven't had any problems with the viewing angle being especially narrow, though, given the way the LCD is... 4/5 Eryc Boorstyn (Boston, MA USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Elgin Battery Powered LCD Alarm Clock with Nap Timer 3408E – Silver (Electronics) As a student who takes frequent naps, this clock could have been fantastic for me. Color LCD clock
This clock is everything I was looking for (well, almost - it would be nice if it was atomic as well). It is small and slim, barely takes any space by the bed). The display is large enough to be seen from across the room. Very simple with one alarm (which I rarely would use). It is easy to set (the only drawback is that the numbers only go one way but there is a separate set for hour and minute so it makes it easier). It displays in 12/24 hour mode which is really nice and you can see the seconds going by (which to me is a BIG plus). The colors are very nice (yes, I like to play with this feature) and they set like a puzzle - there are three little buttons that you push in various ways and they determine the color of the display). At night, it is not too bright and you can see the display easily. The date and day feature is helpful as well. Have you ever woken up on a Saturday or Sunday thinking it's a work day? One look at the clock and you won't be confused anymore :)... 5/5 Eki - See all my reviews This review is from: Pick Your Color LCD Alarm Clock (Electronics) This clock is everything I was looking for (well, almost - it would be nice if it was atomic as well). VERY PLEASED!
I am shocked by the previous review of this product. Does the reviewer want his alarm clock to go off ad infinitum. How boring! One would become desensitized.I just received this clock and find it works perfectly. It is small, yet has a very chic design. Its positive features also are scrolling seconds, day-month-year setting, and if you put it on 24 hours (rather than 12 hours), the am-pm feature changes automatically. Although the clock is small, the numbers on the LCD screen are large. It takes one AAA battery so that if the power goes out, the clock will still keep working. And, of course, there is a little picture of a bell to tell you that your alarm is set.The alarm is not quiet, yet not raucous either. I think it is at a perfect volume. It goes off for one minute; if you want it again, it will return in five minutes if you push the snooze button. It sounds more frequently as the minute progresses. Quite frankly, if you can sleep through all... 5/5 Elaine Campbell "Desert Dweller" (Rancho Mirage, CA United States) - See all my reviews, February 1, 2009"12/24-hour clock format"
As ANTOnline would not answer my inquiry, I will post my own response. I just received my clock today, and am very pleased. As a clock standard, it is powered by AC (120V 60 Hz) with a AAA 1.5V DC backup. The display is 1.8" x 4.75", and the color option is incredibly easy to set. 3 locking buttons, one for each color setting, RGB (button down for on, up for off), 7 choices (technically 8, because if none are lit, it displays a visible shade of black, but who wants a black display on a black background). The most important feature (I feel), is the 12/24-hour clock format. How many people have been late at one time or another because we accidently set the alarm for pm instead of am? That's exactly why I only buy alarm clocks with the 24-hour format. Reading 24-hour format is no sweat. Ignore the 10's place, and subtract 2. Once you get used to looking at the time at certain hours, you remember what hundred hours is what pm.This clock is an excellent... 4/5 Christopher (Salem, OR) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
