  Excellent Choice For Dark Suits and Tuxedos

  This Bulova has a beautiful face which catches and reflects the light and gives it a nice silver sheen. The profile is very slim and fits excellently under the cuff of a dress shirt or French cuffs. The leather band is very soft and comfortable out of the box and doesn't require any break-in period. It is also not ridiculously large - I do wear a large diving watch on a daily basis, but sometimes the dress code requires a more understated look, and this watch meets the requirement.   Very nice

  I like this watch because it is light and very thin. It has a simple, pure look to it. I normally wear a Concord Mariner, and I am tired of how heavy it feels.The Concord is an expensive watch and I am happy that I don't feel the need to wear an expensive watch any more. I like the Bulova even more that the $1,000 Concord.I bought this Bulova at a jewelry store in my local mall. It sold for $175. I should have looked here on amazon before I bought it.   Classic watch... TOO light?

  I was looking for a leather strap watch with a basic, classy look. This watch fits that description 100%. It goes great with anything from formal to business casual dress. It is very compact and light, which can be a pro or con depending on the person.If you have large hands or wrists, the case or strap width may be too small for you, I highly suggest going out to try the watch on to see if it is. The watch is VERY light, which I am not sure if I consider a pro or con. While I do like the fact that it almost feels like I'm not wearing a watch, the case does not naturally fall to the center of my wrist like heavier watches do, nor can I wiggle my hand to make it, I have to manually adjust it with my other hand. The watch tends to fall somewhat in-between my wrist bone (I think it's called the ulna?) and my hand, which gets a little annoying.   Simply Beautiful

  I saw an AD for this watch in Wired Magazine (issue 19.11) and fell in love with it. Checked it out here on Amazon, but actually ended up buying it at Macy's because it was on sale for $299. Regardless, seeing is believing, it is as beautiful as the advertisement. So far I wear it everyday and have not needed to rewind it as it is an automatic. What I love about it is the simplicity - one dial to wind or change time... so even if it sits on your desk for a few days, resetting it is a snap.   Excellent Watch

  I purchased this watch from a local jewelery store and haven't regretted it. It's a beautiful watch that keeps time perfectly. It has an amazing cut away on the front and back allowing you to see the inner-workings of the watch, which is really interesting to see.The automatic self-winding power system is great too. The watch winds itself throughout the day as you make natural movements. It works great, especially the more you wear the watch.Which brings me to the only gripe I have with it: if you don't wear it consistently, you will find yourself turning it in circles before you wear it again. This should be expected though, as it has to gain energy from something. It has lasted about 48 hours on the the dresser before "dieing" in my experience with it so if you plan to wear it every day this should be a non-issue. 4/5 John R.   This watch looks great and feels great. I love the way the blue jumps off the white face. Although the watch feels elegant, it is very lightweight. I like that you can see the mechanism from the face of the watch. The only drawback, and the reason I am withholding the fifth star, is that there is no date on the watch. It drives me crazy to look down for the date and realize there is no date on it. I guess I should be used to it by now, but I own other Bulova watches and they all have the date. This may be minor to some reviewers.   I have owned this watch for approximately six months and absolutely love it! I have received a number of compliments on the appearance and it wears very well on the wrist. My favorite aspects are the color of the watch with the leather band and the deployment clasp. It is very well made and keeps fantastic time. It does not hold the cache of an Omega or Rolex, but it does not have the price either.   Although I had some problem to start up the watch, but eventually I got over the problem. What happened was I followed the instruction of the paper and 'manually' winded the watch 5-6 times, and realise the energy stored didn't even last for 2 hours.   Great Watch

  This watch sets a delicate balance between style and functionality. I love the fact that this watch is casual enough to wear everyday, yet stylish enough to wear with a suit. The transparent back adds a nice touch to the look of the watch even if you can't see the back of the watch while your wearing it. Perhaps my favorite part about the watch is the clicking mechanism used to fasten the watch to your wrist. At first I was a bit skeptical, but once I figured out how it works I really liked it. The clip that fastens the watch to your wrist essentially does the same thing as the "clips" that metal watches have.   Endless Time

  There is no question that when it has came down to watches, many people have often overlooked automatic watches than quartz battery watches for over 20 years. But there are those that have made simple, and delightful automatics for the people. That has been the case with Bulova, and their Men's BVA Dual Aperture Watch. This watch is very easy to setup, and a snap to wear for any man on the go. But this is also one of the few austomatic watches that doesn't show the over-designed skeletal face on the watch. That design has gotten to be so tiring. This watch shows a simple second hand, and a 24-hour subdial that is easy to read and understand. It also shows itself brilliantly in a stainless steel bezel and leather strap that can easily be adjusted with a snap, and a push of the button.   Makes a great first impression

  UPS dropped the watch off a few hours ago. Looks great on. The fact that amazon only lists one picture doesn't give you a great idea of the side and back views. It has an open back to view the movement. The color scheme on the face is great. The rose gold colored accents class it up a lot. Setting the clasp to the right size took a few attempts, but nothing too difficult. The band is nice, but the leather doesn't have a very rich look to it. I imagine it'll look better with some wear to it. I already have a black and silver Bulova Precisionist and love it. That's why I chose Bulova for a brown watch to go with other clothing choices. I selected the self winding style to sample something a little different. It seems like it'll work well with both business and casual dress.   classy but bulky watch

  This is by far the nicest and classiest watch I have purchased. The yellow sweeping second hand did it for me! I was looking for a larger, heavier bulkier watch and I found it! Very classy and sporty ! But warning,,,this is not a watch if you are of a smaller build or do not have somewhatlarge forearms. I am 5'10" 220 lbs weight lifter so I am on the stalky side. If you are of a smaller build I do not think that this watch is for you..You may be walking crooked from the weight of the watch!   Precisionist...should be Perfectionist

  Like the other reviews, the size of this watch is not for the faint of wrist, but I love large watches. This watch gets looks, the angles on the strap have some polished angles and you cannot help but notice the reflection it puts off. The finish is so bright and pristine it truly shines. Great color combination that goes with everything.   Excellent watch. Best self-winding for the money.

  I purchased the Bulova 96A106 watch in July, 2010. I was skeptical at first because I have never owned a Bulova before. I can now say that I made a great purchase! I have worn it daily for nearly six months. So far it has been an excellent watch. The self winding feature is very good. And depending on how much I wear it, it can last up to two days without winding. Perhaps more, I simply haven't left it off my wrist that long. A rough estimate of winding time to running time with occasional winding is about 4 hours wearing/winding time (driving a car or something like that) to about 24 hours of run time. That's a very unofficial and non-scientific estimate.As far as the looks, I like it. Women often compliment me on it. My techy friends think it is cool because of the windowed back so you can see the gears. My green hippie friends think it is good that there is no battery to replace.   I'll keep this short.Pros:- Looks very sharp; I get compliments all the time- Very heavy and well-made- You can actually see all the way through your watch and out the other side in the small window. Pretty neat!- Sweeping second handCons:- Needs to be worn daily for an extended period of time to charge itself. If I take it off at work, it will NOT get enough juice throughout the rest of the day to keep it going overnight. Skip two days and you will definitely have to reset the time on Monday morning. You can also manually wind it, but that's inconvenient.- Kinda TOO big...- Clasp mechanism is in perhaps the worst-possible spot.   Fine watch, dual aperture, exhibition caseback

  This fine piece is another example of great Bulova quality...As usual the photos found all over the internet do not do it justice. On that note, the photo here shows a sub-dial with the tuning-forked second hand being very dark blue or even black. Mine just happens to be a whitish color. This would be cool if I now own a rare abberation.Two (2) aperture sub-dials allowing a view of the inner-workings of the timepiece make this watch unique. Also awe-inspiring is the exhibition caseback allowing a rear view of more gears and the automatic movement of the piece.The watch has not lost or gained time in the 14 days I've been wearing it. I expect that it would stop keeping time if not worn or wound for over 4 days.Additionally, the band has a 'hidden' quick-release double-button deployment clasp which I love. I've never experienced any hitches, scratches, snags or accidental releases.   Bulova Men's 96A119 BVA watch

  I received this watch yesterday. I bought this watch thru Mrwatch, they really provide watches with competitive prices (but the manufacturer's warrenty covers for only 3 years. Not the general Bulova's 5 years warrenty.). I liked their customer service too. I first thought of getting white dial one. But I went to local Gordans store and tried both. I finally liked the black one. It has rich looks, the clasp also looks beautiful. It is a perfect fit for me. 42mm dial is the right size for me, not too big or small. I like the fact that it is automatic and does not require battery. I had problems with my previous fossil when I had to replace the battery. I have been observing the time for 12 hours I don't see any loss or gain of minutes. I will update this review after a month on the accuracy. I really like this watch. It would be really nice to have date rolling. But none of the Bulova's self winding watches have rolling date. This is a beautifully crafted watch.
