  Broke within a week

  This watch stopped working for me within a week of owning it. As other reviewers have already said, the mechanics in this watch are faulty, and the watch will often just stop, regardless of how wound up it is. Eventually, my watch stopped and never started again, so I was forced to return it.It really is a beautiful watch, so it's a shame it's so flawed. Additionally, not having number markers of any sort of the watch was a bit irritating, but it's easy enough to get used to it and learn how to guesstimate the time. And this watch is LOUD.I replaced this watch with an almost identical Adee Kaye watch (), which has been working perfectly for the past three months.   Beautiful Timepiece

  This is a beautiful watch, and is one that keeps accurate time throughout a day. Extremely satisfied with this purchase, however I took off one star for two minor reasons:1. This watch is not an automatic watch, meaning that it has to be wound to keep the time. A full wind will keep the watch running for about 40 hours (according to an Arkibos Representative), however I've noticed that is more like 30 - 35 hours. You can wind the watch during the course of the day, in which case it wouldn't stop unless you forgot to wind it. This is the case will all skeleton watches, however I just wish that the wind lasted for a little longer that what I have experienced.2. The second negative with this watch is that while it is keeping time, the second hand creates a fairly loud ticking noise while on the hand.   Akribos: Big disappointment. Amazon:Great customer service

  I bought this watch new, but it arrived as a second hand watch. It was the first disappointment.Amazon was great because I was contacted right away by customer service to solve the problem.The watch was beautiful... and that's as far as it goes for the denomination "watch". There is nothing else in this watch could qualify it as a watch. It is just a beautiful thing on your wrist that happens to look like a watch.Also, it is NOT water resistant AT ALL.After a month wearing it, it stopped working.Contacted Akribos, horrible customer service. If you contact them through their website, you will go no where. No one would answer you and you would get a "returned mail" from them saying that your email is rejected by their system. If you contact them by email, they deliberately wrote a wrong email address on their website so you will Never be able to reach them.   Great look, but was not working

  I ordered this watch as a present to my wife. It looks great. It is not a giant watch. I noticed that it was not working just after unpacking the box. I have adjusted the time and it began working. but 3 hours later it stopped to work again and I had to return it back. Maybe the battery was dead.   Akribos Womens watch

  This watch is a great deal when compared with other ceramic watches on the market. The style is classy yet fashioned for every day wear. The durability of a ceramic watch is great for people who want a nice timepiece on their wrist although they may work with water/kids throughout the day.   Beautiful watch, but not at all durable

  This watch broke just outside of the return window. I'd had is a little over two months. I think it's a gorgeous looking timepiece, but it's not at all resilient. It can't handle normal day-to-day wear, it seems. I bought it because I work in an art museum and there's no clocks in the galleries.   I bought this watch for my boyfriend. He actually picked it out and it truly is beautiful. I wish they made a female version, or something similar. The only drawback for us was with the band. It tends to snag on the edges and overtime it has caused a nasty little cut on my boyfriends wrist, near the outer-edge of his palm (on the pinky side).   Great looking inexpensive watch.

  I haven't had the watch "bug" since six years ago when I went on a small buying spree. About a week ago it hit me again. Ah well...I like the look of open skeleton movements (especially those with exhibition backs), and I like automatic or mechanical movements as opposed to quartz battery movements. I find them beautiful and fascinating. That being said I can't afford to spend thousands for a luxury Swiss made watch (although I do have a few low end ones). So I usually troll around the web looking at the less expensive (i.e. cheap) brands. Awhile back I came across this watch on Amazon and fell in love with it's looks, and price. I have never heard of Akribos XXIV though I did go to their website. They operate out of Brooklyn N.Y.   Arrived not working

  Thought I'd try my first cheap Chinese made movement to see how it worked. The watch arrived and looked nice but didn't work. After winding the watch the second hand would go around and stop at the 12 position every time; I'd shake it and it would go around again then stop.   Unfortunately the bad reviews were correct...

  I bought this watch with the hopes that it would work as well as the good reviews had described, but I got one of the "unlucky ones." I was able to get the watch to work for 55 minutes through various combinations of moving the automatic winder and rotating the hands but that was before about 20 attempts where the seconds hand stopped rotating within the minute. Further attempts revealed the same disappointing results. Everything looked beautiful, it came in an amazing case too which could easily even fit three watches if someone wanted to use it while traveling, but the overall product has to be defined as a failure because it didn't do what a watch is supposed to do...keep the time.Good luck to anyone else willing to take the risk, if you get one that actually works I'm sure it'd be one of your favorites! 1/5 Allen Peterson (AP) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)   The watch crap - their service is worse

  I received this watch a fifteen months ago as a gift bought through Amazon. I used it as a special occasion dress watch. I used it three times and it stopped running. I had to send it to them with a ten dollar fee under their warranty. It took eight weeks to get back. I went to use it several month later and it stopped the first time I used it, exactly the same way it stopped before. I contacted their service center they said send it back without the ten dollar fee. I send it, with receipt mail, in June - it is now October and I cannot get any word as to where it is. They don't reply to emails, don't answer their phone and don't return voice mails. The watch is pretty as a picture and just as useful. If I still had it, it would tell me the correct time at least twice a day - I can't even get that from it.   For a chinese made mechanical watch in a low budget range it seems to hold its own fairly well. The dial is easily visible with precise, easy to read numbers. Other than a slight misalignment of the 12, 9 and 3 dials for the most part it is perfect.The band is a bit smaller than standard American bands and fairly narrow. The synthetic sapphire also seems to hold true to the name and after a few scrapes into things has been fairly scratch resistant.It seems to use an unknown Chinese etched cover for the parts that is found in several other brands such as Armitron and Stuhrling (Also owned by the owners of Akribos). This watch mainly has the advantage of the very visible dial when compared to other "generic Chinese skeletons"However it does have a few flaws1)The oscillating weight is fairly stiff. It is some times troublesome to see the hour and minute hands beacuse they seem to blend in to the background in some lower lighhting conditions. Like most automatic watches, this watch seems to gain about 5-7 seconds a day. I wear this watch with both a suit at work and out with my wife in a more casual atmosphere and it goes very nice in either setting. The case appears to be well constructed and the band is also well made and very comfortable. Though the face of the watch seemed a bit bigger in the photo, the watch still looks spectacular. Definitely recommend this watch to anyone who wants something simple yet sofisticated.   Beautiful watch

  Easily my most complimented time piece. It is accurate, well-made and truly an attention getter. The front and back crystals are high quality synthetic, keeping the price affordable. It is remarkably clear and perfectly polished. I fear that regular wear and incidental damage may eventually scratch the crystal, and I'm not sure as to the availability of replacements. As any true skeleton watch should be, this bad boy is a hand winder, and the "ticking" is not too loud for those unaccustomed to such a thing.My only complaint is that the manufacturer chose to pair this lovely watch with a band that more closely resembles cured roadkill than leather. Really, the band is ugly as hell. Fortunately, it is a standard size, and my local watch-shop was able to make the switch to something more appropriate for this time piece.Its a great watch, looks fantastic on the wrist, and is reasonably priced for the wow factor it brings.   Bad ass watch. Bling Bling at a great price

  I don't know what some of the other people that bought this watch and then reviewed it badly were thinking. I just got the watch yesterday and its gorgeous. Of course it doesn't look as good as the picture, nothing you buy on the internet does. I'm telling you this watch is great. I've only wore it once and got like 10 comments on it. Not only is it a looker its a great value. The diamonds are real. Everything about this watch is high end. I mean look at the normal price of this watch. It was [...] and now its [...]. Can't beat that. Yes its heavy and yes its huge. If you don't have a big wrist, you may have to remove a link or two. I have a normal size wrist and it is loose on me but comfortable. That's the way I like my watches. Also has a stop watch built in. Overall if you want a bad ass, high end watch for a forth of the price. Buy this bad boy. 5/5 Ty A.   Very Large and dull

  I bought this watch for my boyfriend for Christmas, he picked it out. When I received it the face of the watch was huge and when he put it on it seemed to swallow up his hand. He's an average size guy 6' 185 lbs. Also, the watch is nowhere near as sparkly and dramatic as the picture makes it seem.
